By experimenting with low-fi electronics and audio circuit devices, I wish to grasp and explore the traces left by physical phenomena and materiality through kinetic installations and sound. The notions of memory and chaos fascinate me, revealing itself even more playful and organic through error, glitches and randomness, while remaining essentially related to systems.BIOGRAPHY
Stephanie Castonguay's work has been exhibited at festivals, such as, Nuit blanche de Port-au-Prince in Haiti, the International Montreal/New Music festival and International Digital Arts Biennial and performed at FONDERIE DARLING, EASTERN BLOC, for Sight & Sound and PirateBlocRadio. Driven by a “Do-It-Yourself/Together” approach, she have been closely involved in creative solidarity project such as SONDES, initiated by Montreal’s art centre PERTE DE SIGNAL, to which she is an active member. Over the years, she've made many collaborative residencies at art centers and Fablabs, including the multimedia centre KËR THIOSSANE in Dakar, PERTE DE SIGNAL and FABLAB DU P.E.C. in Montreal. Highly motivated by sharing of commons and open practices, she gave creative electronic workshops for artists, communities and families in Montreal, Tunis and Casablanca.
